Hi I’m Jonathan Fogel,

I grew up just outside of Philadelphia, PA in the small(ish) town of Springfield, Delaware County. Throughout my childhood, I was a wrestler, a member of the school band, an AP Student, and a sub-par Counter-Strike player. My next chapter was set at Franklin & Marshall College, where I found interest in both Physics and Mathematics. Unable to decide, I ended up completing both majors, and finished my four years in 2021 with a double major in Physics and Mathematics.

While in my undergraduate studies, I contributed to physics research within multiple teams on an array of topics. I did this with both internal and external groups. With these positive experiences, I followed a similar path post-college. Since graduating, I have been with the MIT Lincoln Laboratory as a Staff member for the Air, Missile and Maritime Defense Division’s Advanced Concepts Group, where I have been able to work on many interesting and exciting problems to benefit US National Security. For more information on my research, side projects, and professional life, be sure to check out the CV and Projects tabs.

What do I do in my free time? Well, I can found rock climbing both real rock and in gyms, competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, or playing guitar at pretty much any given moment. I also dabble in solo game development, where I am currently developing a Celeste-inspired platformer about the journey of a Pika, an adorable species of tiny, mountainous, rabbit-like mammals who build their dens from grass and flowers.
